Gallery in a Box 10-pc. Frame Set - Black Review

I actually ordered this directly through Target.It was well packaged--each frame individually wrapped in bubble wrap and snuggly inside 3 thick cardboard boxes.

To be honest, the construction of these frames feel cheap, but they aren't for touching anyway.They really do look great on the wall.The price is really a great deal, I think.A gallery like this could easily be twice as much through places like Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel.

They are really light-weight.I am a renter so I really didn't want to put anymore nails in the wall than I had to (especially 13!).They are light enough to hang on thumb tacks without falling off the wall.The boxdoes come with nails though.

The "glass" is a thin plastic or Plexiglases which although, adds to it's "cheapness," I actually prefer (because if they were to fall off the wall, I know they wouldn't break as easily, or during shipping).

Hanging them was pretty easy.I ended up using one of the templates they provided but slightly modifying it by hanging two rows, and using the remaining frames elsewhere in my home.Once you have the template hanging on the wall, you mark where to place the nail (or tacks) by poking through the paper on the designated cross-hairs.What I discovered and liked was that the hooks on the back of the frames are spaced the same regardless of which frame you were using.I ended up switching where I wanted one of the double frames with two of the single frames to hang without having to poke more holes in the wall.

I would buy another set of frames to hang on another wall, or even to change up and modify the collection I already have.They give you three designs of how to arrange two sets of galleries together.My main gripe about this gallery and what prevented me from giving it a higher rating was that there is no horizontal hook on the back.I am stuck only being able to use two horizontal pictures and have to scour or edit my pictures for more vertical ones.I guess I could go to a craft store and buy hooks so that I could hang some of the frames horizontally, but I find it inconvenient and a lot of frames already have this option anyway.
