Alpine Three Tier Barrel Fountain - Red Review

I love the fountain.It looks great, fits my deck and babbles soothingly.Unbeatable Sales was fast and the fountain was delivered quickly and in good shape.That being said the buyer should know there were assembly issues.The tubes leading from the electric pump to the decorative spout were preassembled but were too long.Not wanting to cut them and compromise the seals we ended up carefully turning and twisting so the tubing would not kink.Due to the excess length, we were unable to stand the pump upright on it's suction cups so we laid it carfully so the inflow was facing down.The directions are very difficult to comprehend, all diagrams with random arrows.It doesn't seem like the tubes should have been preassembled so I don't know if that was a mistake or the directions are just wrong.The most difficult part was attaching the tubing to the spout.The tube was a good 1/4 inch too big.There was no way to get an airtight seal, we finally wrapped the base of the spout with a rubber band, looped some teflon tape over that and pushed the tubing on.Once placed we still had to be careful the tubing wouldn't kink but so far it's working well.I'm sure we'll have to replace the rubber band as it ages.So looks earn a 5 assembly a 1 which averages to a 3.

Adesso Eternity Extended Gooseneck Desk Lamp, Satin Steel Review

I purchased this lamp to be a reading lamp for bed.Overall,I am not disappointed.The LEDs are not the super bright variety, but it puts off enough light by which to read.

My one real complaint is that the goose neck is not strong enough to support its own weight.Either slowly over time or in sudden, jerky motions, the lamp "falls".this is not catastrophic and it can be overcome with a little twisting, but it is inconvenient, which is why I did not give the lamp 4 stars.

Overall, this is a good reading lamp and I will continue using it until the next great thing comes along.

Acme Executive Chair Review

The chair came in bits and pieces so don't forget that there is some assembly required.It's a little bit challenging to get everything to line up, because the directions for this one really suck.But once you get this ACME brand "executive" chair together, it does the job.The leather is fake, but I don't really care if you do.Height is adjustable but it doesn't lean back.

Precise Heat Element Low Pressure, Pressure Cooker Review

These pots work great as a low pressure cooker and can be used as regular pots.The 9 qt pot can fit two whole chickens. The smaller pot is great for one pot everyday meals.The extra pressure really infuses the food with more flavor in the same amount of time.I sometimes use the smaller pot to make sauces.When you lift the lid, the flavor and smell of basil in a marinara sauce really comes through.

In general, meats take about half the time using the pressure top. I usually use it to make one pot dishes that get a lot of flavor from the pressure. I also like make a hearty soup that uses barley that cooks up beautifully and quickly using these pots. These heavy duty pans retain heat and also allow for some outstanding searing of meat if you are careful to watch the cooking process carefully.The really great part is that you can remove the lid by just popping the handles at any time while you are cooking.These pots can be used by novice cooks but really experienced cooks can really get a lot of use out of these pots.

The pots are heavy duty stainless steel and clean up with soaking and soap and water.I found just heating water with a few drops of dish soap loosens things very quickly.SOS takes up the reminder easily.You can use the pots for no pressure cooking by using the regular lid that comes with it but I use my non-stick pans when I don't need the pressure lid for two reasons:(1) these pans require more clean up than non-stick and (2) these are heavy, wide pots.

Once you get used to using these pots, you'll wonder how you did without them.The cooking time it saves, and the ease of use and wonderfully rich flavoring that can be infused into food in a short time make this a really worthwhile product at an extremely reasonable price.

Poundex Corner Shelf, Oak Review

My husband and I just bought this for a corner of our dining area, but we don't like the quality much.

The assembly is pretty easy to do, but the materials are just all very low-quality.It comes with an extremely small amount of wood glue (looks/feels like library paste) for putting pegs in place.It's also held together by screws.

The color is quite orange...not sure how they came up with the name "oak" for the color.The finish is marred and there are a couple of scratches (one of which we'll need to sand to avoid splinters), and some of the wood appears to be filled in with glue or something because it's low-quality wood.

It wasn't quite worth it to deal with shipping it back, so it'll do its job--it just wasn't really worth the price we paid, cheap as it is.

with apologies to the classic billy wilder/marilyn monroe film...i bought this sleek little saucy pan and was pleased that i did not have to worry about the evil that aluminum pans dispense. the idea of the clear cover was an added attraction as who can resist being able to see what heat does to various foodstuffs. after removing it from its excellent packaging i washed it and rushed off to make some english breakfast tea in my lovely shiny new pot. i watched with pleasure as the water heated and stood impatiently with teabag in hand. Finally it was time and i reached out with one hand for the handle to adjust the pot and with the other hand grabbed the cute round lid handle when my pain sensors informed me that something was terribly terribly wrong. hot! hot! Hot! HOT!!!
and then i knew. the joke was on stoopid me. i have always had pans with the black rubbery or plastic handles, pot lid handles the same. granted i should have known that an all-stainless steel pot would be hot, but no where was there any indication in the specs that pot holders are necessary with this item andi am embarrassed to admit that it never even occurred to me....the pan IS a sleek, pretty thing and the top is quite enchanting but if you are a person who wants a no-think pot to heat your foods in, this is NOT the one for you.

Atlantic Satellite 77305018 2 Speaker Stands (Black) Review

The reason I have given 5 stars is due to the price, the height, and excellent functional design. As you know, speaker stands are ridiculously overpriced. These are reasonable.

Speaker wire can be completely hidden. The wire feeds through the stand and comes out the top for connection to your speakers. There is a cool little "U" shape on the front foot where the speaker wire comes out on the bottom. It keeps the speaker wire directed where you want it to be directed on the base. It's a very well thought out design feature that I've not seen on other stands. With tile floors, it makes a big difference for me. It keeps the speaker wire directed under the sofa where I want it so it can't be seen.

Now on to stability-

If you have hard flooring, you will be able to extend the stands all the way up if you screw the speakers to the bottom plate. The base is surprisingly stable and it has rubbery stuff on the bottom to keep it from sliding. If the stands will be on carpet, you may not be able to fully extend them unless you have small speakers. My son's system has small speakers. They are back mounted to the stand with a screw and nut that fit inside a metal bracket that can be removed for screw mount. His speakers are on berber carpet. With his small lightweight speakers he is able to fully extend these with no wobble.

I searched everywhere for welded handles and yet didn't want to sacrifice quality. This little cookware set has it all (encapsulated aluminum bottoms, 18/10, glass lids)! And for the price, you can't beat it! We just came from a home show and this cookware had everything the expensive sets do! I've used it to cook with and it's great. (I didn't realize though, that you should treat your ss cookware gently and try to keep the scratches down, and then it cleans up almost as easy as teflon.)

Prime Cookware 8 Piece Square Stainless Steel Cookware Set with Glass Lids Review

Which is what one of my concerns were when I purchased the set on Overstock & paid twenty dollars more than they are listed here. Still I like the way food cooks evenly. All of the glass lids fit snugly. The pan that is used for "frying" which I don't do much of does show heat discoloration inside bottom of it after my husband fried strips of chicken. The other pans have no discoloration even though I have boiled water (to cook rice)(which turned out perfect & didn't stick)& it looks like new. Clean up is easy. No need to scrub.
I bought the set about four months ago & so far I am pleased with the the look, the feel, the durability & something I totally unexpected is that the stainless steel handles stay cool to the touch!
The glass lids have a small hole in them for the steam escape route which is perfect. The handle of the lids also stay cool.
I grew up cooking with cast iron & stainless steel only. As an adult, I too fell for the "silverstone" cookware. T-FAL was some of the worst silverstone cookware I ever had the displeasure of cooking with. A gift from my dear Dad, I never told him...he was convinced it was great cookware...and now of course we are told it's unhealthy to cook with silverstone.I threw it all out & decided to go back to all stainless steel & cast iron.
I will continue to revamp all of my kitchen wares & gadgets with stainless steel for durability, longevity, & oh yes...I think it is good looking.
Thinking about purchasing a second set for my expanding family...

Pinacle 36" High Capacity Air Circulator Review

bought this on amazon.The price was about the same as buying it locally.Oh wait, no, it was less than buying it locally, EVEN with shipping.The box came completely destroyed, so destroyed I was momentarily upset with my wife for signing for it.However, the product had not a scratch on it.Assembly was minimal and simple.My only concern is for how long it will last.To that point, I'm thinking the motor or belt will be the first to go and those are both relatively simple items to replace.Great price on a belt driven fan.

I've already used some of their other products; they sure represent a good synthesis of form and function, and built to last a lifetime; that's why I decided to invest in their outclass grill.Starting the fire was a matter of minutes with the fire chimney (a very worthwhile accessory) thena nice feature was the dual cooking zone which enables you to cook your meat and vegetables at the same time.Given good recipes, throw in the best ingredients, the rest is up to you :I mean watching , because there lies the secret of barbecuing .Eva solo grill then delivers first class results.Sure my former barbecue was as capable when used to roast a chicken (indirect cooking) but in the whole I feel the eva solo a better performer to cook precisely.
Usingonly stainless steel throughout the design has obvious advantages,one being minimal care and keeping indefinitely its natural appearance (Ijust gave it a layer of special oil they use in professional kitchens)and easy cleaning of the grate, which translate into a nice impression of staying like new.
The sides remain relatively cool in use due to a layer of air circulating around the fire place , thus increasing safety.
There is as for myself a minor gripe: the rods protuding ,used a a peg for both tong and spatula are too short (risk of dropping them) half aninch more in both directions would have been perfect , but thenit might have hurt the design.A most remarkableaddition to your patio or deck , the eva solo outclass is definitely a fantastic piece of kit: some would say a work of art?

Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 4-12x40 Riflescope Review

This scope has reasonable clarity and sharpness for a scope in this price range. Not great but usable. The quarter minute adjustments seem to vary
(an adjustment of six clicks won't necessarily move your point of impact one and a half inches at 100 yards) but you can live with that if you don't mind using a couple of extra rounds of ammo when sighting in. Having had it for just a few range sessions on a 22 Hornet, I can't attest to it's durability. If you want an inexpensive scope to put on an inexpensive rifle, this might suit your needs. It doesn't match my Bushnell 4200 series scope or my Leupolds but it doesn't cost near as much either.

Allsop 28162 Wheel Easy LE Folding Yard Cart Review

This would be a great product if the wheel were not inflatable, if it were just a hard wheel. As it is, it's VERY difficult to inflate the tire because the valve is hard to get to. Then, the tube just split wide open (it seemed pretty dry and crackly) within a couple months of use. Now, am I supposed to go buy a replacement tube for this little tire? What a drag. Even getting the tube out to see how bad the hole in it was: a big pain! - not nearly as easy as changing the tube in a bike tire. I would not recommend this version of this cart to anyone, I would get one that does not have a tube and tire system that needs to be filled with air and replaced.- Oh, and part of the plastic on one side of the assembly that holds the tire broke within days. It still worked, so I was able to use it anyway, but just another drag...

Texas Irons Double Barrel Chicken Cooker Review

My inital take on this Chicken Cooker was about the same until like most men don't do I read the instructions that came in the box. It says and I quote "Cover top of tray with foil to seal the corners of the cooker." (Even says to do this on the big black warning label on the instructions to avoid flare ups) I did this and wow it actually worked. I have been making beer can chickens for well over 10 years now and when I saw this I had to try it out. I no longer have to worry about trying to balance the chicken and the can on my grill grates. With this cooker all you have to do is cover the top of the tray with foil (see I remembered), fill the wells (there's two and I've used both several times) with your favorite beverage (I usually use Dr. Pepper and a little bit of black pepper), then slide the chicken cavity down over the raised well and put it on my grill, even tried it in my oven last weekend when it rained, was still good and worked just as well.

I would recommend a Double Barrel Chicken Cooker to anyone that likes chicken...and what's not to like about it, this way is even healty as it helps drain the fat away from the chicken and steams the meat.These guys really thought this thing out, just wish now I had thought of it before they did!

Beerberg Ice Barrel Cooler (for 2 3/8" diameter bottles) Review

I got an opportunity to try out the Beerberg Ice Hole (which is made for cans) and loved it so much that I purchased this one for bottles.To my surprise it worked even better than my first one (although I am still very happy with it as well).It could be because the bottle fits tighter in the aluminum cylinder and because the thick glass is a better insulator that a thin can.

Here are my test results with the cooler in a 75 degree room:Right out of the refrigerator: 38.2 degrees Fahrenheit

After 1 Hour:34.4 WOW!

After 2 Hours: 34.8

After 3 Hours: 35.3

After 4 Hours: 35.9

After 5 Hours: 36.5

Don't get me wrong, if it takes you 7 hours to drink a beer, you don't deserve one.But if you are sitting around with your friends having a few cold ones over the course of an afternoon or evening, the Ice Barrel will make sure that each beer and every sip is ice cold.

I was able to find a small glass to fit the Ice Barrel and although it is a little short it is great for keeping a cocktail cold outdoors without the ice melting and watering the drink down (picture yourself on the beach with an Ice barrel and a Cuba Libre. Heaven!)

I forgot a couple of things in my video review: first, it's called the "ICE" barrel, not the beer barrel; second, when you fill it up with water be sure that you stuff the cylinder with a piece of newspaper of paper towel so you don't get water inside of it.

There are a couple of things things that I would like to see changed but that doesn't take away from the pleasure that I get when using it.I am sure that I will be giving a few of them as presents for the beer drinkers that I know and love.I use mine often and I am sure that they will too.5 stars!

Char Broil 435 Charcoal Barrel Grill Review

For those who want to return to Charcoal this is a good first step.The product is MASS produced with the same problems as any MASS produced item.Things are stamped and spot welded.By that I mean the quality is not there.An example is the bracket for holding the fire pit is stamped and spot welded.On my grill it was bent so I tried to bend it back into shape and it broke.Then what can you expect from and entry level product.Do not expect to assemble this product by yourself, I did and it was not a pleasant experience.By myself it required two hours work for a 45 minute project.This grill performed well the first time I used it and I am improving on the use of the smoker.All in all, I am very pleased with this product and again it is a good first step.

Fiskars 5996 Holden 48-Gallon Rain Harvesting System, Neutral Color Review

This was my first rain barrel and I was excited to get it installed.I had to purchase a drill bit to make a 1" hole in the side which was annoying but understandable because you can set it up in many different positions so the diverter is closest to the gutter.Once drilled, the installation was fairly quick.With one rain I was able to fill the barrel.

Now the cons:
1.The spigot is plastic and actually broke off after about 2 months, at most.I replaced it with a metal one from Lowes and it appears to be much better.
2.The diverter needs some major gutter caulk or when the barrel is full, the rain will leak out of the connection.For me it would go into a window well which was not good.
3.The water spigot is quite a way from the bottom... good to keep sediment from the hose but you lose pressure faster and cannot empty the barrel.The point is to use all water, right?

Overall it's a value barrel and does it's job with a little work.I have purchased another, more aesthetically appealing barrel and it's much sturdier.
