Hand Carved Storage Settee - Mahogany Review

We have had this for a few months now, and are so very happy with it!!We got it for our entryway, as we needed a spot for the kids/hubby to take off snowy boots and mittens/hats when coming in. We had been looking for a nice hall tree with a bench, but hadn't been able to find what we were looking for.Everything we saw was too contemporary or too simple.We were looking for something elegant, but also functional.This really does the trick, and looks beautiful as well.It is very well-made and very simple to put together.Just pay attention when putting it together that although the screws all look the same size upon first inspection - they're not!!We had to switch a few around after getting it almost done.I absolutely love this bench and highly recommend it.By the way, we got a black plastic shoe tray from the container store to go underneath it (for snowy shoes - we have a wood floor).It works out very well and is hardly noticeable.Also, the storage compartment is pretty child friendly.Our youngest is 5, and she hasn't had any trouble opening or closing it.Plus, it's so easy for the kids to remember where the mittens/gloves/hats go that we haven't lost one set this winter!! :-)Love it, love it, love it!!

This beautifully crafted storage settee is laced with exquisite detail hand carved into solid wood.
The seat back is topped with a floral centerpiece embraced by symmetrical scrolls that lay groundwork for the heavily carved floral patterns on three panels set into the seat back.
The seat itself opens to reveal hidden storage for blankets, crafts, or other miscellaneous items that measures 15.5" long, 34.5" wide, and 3.5" deep.
On the face of the seat there is additional carving that is comprised of circular medallions in a horizontal repeating pattern.
The detail is finished off with the front legs that are hand carved to give the appearance of rivets on top with a traditional clawed foot design on bottom.
This bench is truly one of a kind and is sure to be a prized possession in your home.
