Overall this is a solid, well-constructed product, with the exception of the top step.While the rest of the product is screwed together, the top step is tongue-and-groove ... which would be ok, if the "tongue" portion was not so shallowly cut as to almost be a joke.I wouldn't necessarily discourage anyone from buying; I would however suggest anticipating picking up a couple of extra wood screws.The step will hold on its own, but its hard to feel good about entrusting the safety of your child to it.
