I looked at several different coatrack/hatracks online before deciding to buy this one.I chose if because it had more hooks than others that I saw. I also thought it would go well with the my iron canopy bed and accessories, but this proved to be a bad decision. It was a little difficult to tell what the coatrack would be like from the photo but I never dreamt the quality would be so poor -- especially the "brass accents".They are made of a very poor quality plastic that is coated with a brass coloring that came off on my hands during assembly.The "brass" spacers could easily crack or break if any of the screws are tightened a little too much.The "brass" balls keep falling off because they are difficult to press on snuggly without the fear of breaking them.The end result is that this piece looks quite tacky.The only saving grace is that I am using it for a hat rack in a dark corner of the bedroom so it will not be an eyesore in a more visible place in the house.
