I recently purchased this item as a future Christmas present, but will review it briefly.Because the stain from the barrel is on the underside of the candelabra, it will not be readily visible on display.Lifting it up though, the stains are visible.The phrase in the description referencing the smells of wine from the product are hyperbole, or at least I wasn't able to detect anything close to wine-created scents.On display, I think the natural curve of the stave is beautiful, and makes this a unique gift for a wine-lover.
