South Shore Furniture, Cotton Candy Collection, Changing Table, Ebony Review

My husband and I are expecting our first child.So we went furniture shopping.The baby stores we went to are outrageous with their over the top priced furniture.So, I researched different baby stores online before purchasing this changing table.I must have visited about 20 different sites.Let me tell you I should have researched a little more.We received the table in the beginning of July, I had purchased it on 6-25-09.We just finished painting the baby's room and putting down new carpet, so today (8-20-09) we decide to start putting together the furniture that we purchased that has been sitting in our house for 2 months.(So of course, our return warranty expired 2 weeks ago.So if we return this item we are subject to anywhere from 15-50% RESTOCkING FEE.Quite a range!)Tonight my husband took the dresser out of the package and it is the poorest quality of furniture we both have ever seen.Amazon.com, nor [...] discloses what the dresser is made out of, so I assume it's quality wood.The whole thing is made out of particle board!The particle board is what is stained.The top of the dresser is particle board, not even a veneer, effing particle board.Not even the drawer fronts are made with a significant wood.The back of the dresser is very thin masonite.I am so disappointed in the quality especially since we paid over $250 for this item.The top of the table has nicks and the stain is chipped on teh edges of the table.There is a 5 year warranty form South Shore themselves.I registered the furniture online and immediately asked for a replacement top.We'll see what happens!
