The coat rack is easy to assemble. My main concerns were balance and stability, and this coat rack meets those concerns successfully. I haven't had any problems with heavy coats, and have found that I haven't even had to "balance the load" to maintain stability. When assembling the unit, I was surprised to find that it had no lateral support. It simply unfolds; there is nothing that sets the angle, other than allowing the baskets to fit.
