It was a little tricky for one non-mechanical person to put together but I'm glad I did.I didn't realize that this dual lamp offered adjustable lighting for both the torchiere and the reading lights.Perfect!With the 2 knobs, you can decide how bright or dark you want the lighting.This lamp was better than expected.

72"H Black Halogen Torchiere Floor Lamp w/Glass Diffuser Review

This is the third defective light I have purchased from VisionDecor.In this case the weight of the lamp is such that it does not stay horizontal.The screw mechanism is not strong enough to hold the lamp up for very long.This is despite only adjusting it once!They refuse to credit or replace as it is past the return period despite almost no use due to my travels.It would be nice if Amazon would take this company off their site so other customers do not have the same repeat experience!!!!!!!!!!

71" Basic Halogen Torchiere Floor Lamp w/180 Watt Bulb Review

I love this lamp. This was the cheapest halogen lamp I could fine and was very happy. Shipping was quick and customer service was very good. Only halogen lamps can fill a room well and this one did the trick (at least for me). The dimmer feature was also a nice touch which I did not know it had until I put it together. Very Happy !!!!

Adesso Aries Torchiere, Black Review

I was looking for an economical functional floor lamp.This lamp fits the requirements.The style is simple and functional.Many other floor lamps I looked at only allowed one 150 watt bulb.My experience with those was poor.They lit up the ceiling well, but they just weren't bright enough to illuminate the rest of the room.This one takes two 150 watt conventional bulbs, so it is very bright.

The dimmer switch has two settings, full power or half-power.You can NOT adjust it to in-between levels.

I'm using it with compact spiral fluorescent bulbs instead of normal bulbs.(None of the fluorescent bulbs i've seen are compatible with dimmers.They all require full power.I just never use the half-way mark on the light switch.I've had the lamp with CFL bulbs for several months and have not had any problems.)

This lamp does not qualify as fine furniture.It is not going to elicit comments like "ooh, what a lovely lamp".It just lights up the room well in basic, modern, functional style.
