Oak Finish Large 4-Sided Spinning Multimedia Storage Tower Review

I was somewhat apprehensive before puying this product, because I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to assemble it. Although the boxes were very heavy, the assembly job turned out to be very manageable. Instructions were good and I was able to complete the whole assembly job within 45 minutes, with very minor help from my wife.
What I like about this CD-rack is that it allows for very dense CD storage - about 1000 CDs in a footprint of 18"x18". It also looks like furniture and blends in well with other furniture.

If you have a lot of CDs, DVDs and Videotapes languishing in various places, I'd highly recommend it.

Prepac Black Triple-Width Wall Media Storage Rack Review

I ordered this unit to store my DVD collection, which is currently just under 300 titles.It has definitely helped to keep my media organized.

I like that the height of the shelves can be adjusted to fit CDs, DVDs, or even clamshell VHS cases.If the shelves are set to the height of a standard DVD box, the unit will fit five rows of DVDs -- there will be a sixth row that is about the right height for standard CD jewel cases.At this height, you will have leftover shelving and hardware (the shelves are held in place with metaldowels) that I assume would come in handy if the unit were used for CDs, as you could then accomodate more rows of shelves.

The unit isn't difficult to put together.My only issue with the piece is its cumbersome distribution of weight.It's quite top-heavy.I actually had to screw picture framing hardware to both my wall and the back of the unit and tether the unit to the wall with wire to get it to stand upright.Before I did so, it would not stand straight on my carpeted floor with anything on the shelves.For the price, it works well and looks fine, but if you aren't prepared to do some engineering to hold the thing upright, it probably isn't the best product to buy.

Double Media Tower - Oak/ Black Review

Looks are oftentimes deceiving, and in the case of this particular media shelf, that is all too true.What you don't see is that this unit is not really made of real wood.You can't really know that you're probably going to split the "wood" when putting it together because it looks fairly sturdy from the ad.No wonder it comes with a blemish cover-up marker...

All of that aside, it's not a bad-looking piece.And it's a pretty good price for what you get.You may want to find something a little sturdier if you plan to store only DVDs on it because it is prone to tipping over easily.But it's slim and doesn't take up much space, which is good.

Prepac Black Slim Media (DVD,CD,Games) Storage Tower Review

The Oak/Black is no where near the light color in the photo. It's much, much darker color. The tower also came damaged (several paint chips in exposed areas).

Don't even think about trying to return something to Dynadirect. Their CS department was rude and insulting. They refused to pay return shipping even though they were 100% wrong by "displaying" this product incorrectly. You shouldn't have to pay to send back an item you didn't order in the first place. Avoid these guys like the plague.

I have three of the above items.Two store-bought, and one through Amazon.com.In all cases, the items come disassembled in heavy, somewhat awkward, cartons.However intimidating the cartons look, the items themselves are easily assembled following the step-by-step directions.I found all the pieces marked as stated in the assembly instructions and requiring little mechanical skill to assemble.

In short, I'm please with my purchases which proved to be rugged and tough after assembly, very sturdy, and stable on a level floor.I'd recommend the product to anyone.

First of all, this is your typical fiberboard product with a flimsy cardboard backing. That said, I am very happy with this purchase. The visible areas of the tower are finished nicely and do not look cheap. I have over 600 movies and they fit just fine with a little room to spare for odd shaped media. The directions are okay but could use some more detail. Assembly took about two hours but I was going slow and took a couple beer breaks. The worst part of this assembly was trying to attach the backing without punching a nail through the finish...I failed. They supply a cover-up marker for damage to the finish so the end result looked pretty good in spite of my wayward hammer. I just needed a place to store my dvd`s. This tower fits great in my basement since it only sticks out about nine inches from the wall.

Even at the discounted price, this was an expensive Chirstmas gift for my husband to house a large portion of our dvd collection. The assembly instructions were clear & simple, but I would recommend having a second person involved. I haven't counted how many dvd's we managed to fit into it, but it was many more than we expected. It looks very nice, but it is made of pressboard & such items tend to damage or chip easily. All things considered, I am very happy with my purchase, and would like to buy another one... Maybe next Christmas.
