The one star in this review is for the custome service we dealt with in getting our money back.

I've seen this cabinet whole and complete (we got one just like it from a different retailer that ran out after our purchase) and it is beautiful and functional.When we ordered it from Amazon.com independent retailer, it was a whole other story.

The cabinet was shipped in pieces, which wasn't a problem as it is easy to put together.The problem was it was shipped in one box with the doors touching the outside edges of the box.If they would have shipped this in its orginal box inside another box with a bit of packing, there would not have been a problem.The first time we got it, the glass was damaged as was the doors.The second time, the glass was intact, but the doors were again damaged.The problem was that the line along the bottom and top of the doors that fits into the grooves so the doors slide back and forth were split and cracked making the items unrepairable.The wood is a composit and fragile.The main casing was also scratched and dented, again from the lack of proper packing.

In conclusion, if you can find this cabinet locally, go for it --its very nice.If you need to order it from anywhere, I would be wary and probably shy away from it.One wrong shift in packing and this thing is done for.

Ashlin Small Deluxe Media Storage with Locking Shaker Style Doors - Black Review

Bought 2 to place on both sides of the tv.Shipping was expensive, but still overall I'd say this purchase was a reasonable value.

The good: They came on time and had all parts. They were easy to assemble after slight mixups (user error but the instructions could be easier to read). They look nice near modern furniture and feel solid.

The bad: They came with scratches and other blemishes that the included detailing markers didn't fix well. The lock/pin is annoying, it's strange to have to lock your cabinet to ensure the doors stay closed.I'd rather have magnets or another non lock device to hold the doors shut. The doors stay almost entirely shut without the lock engaged.Finally, the boxes came with lots of dust/debris inside which made a real mess during construction.

Overall, recommended due to storage capacity and pleasing aethetics(minus blemishes) and solid feel.Could use improvement on several small details.
